Our Community Projects are an important part of how we connect learning with real-world impact. At Community Trade Hub, we have had the privilege of supporting a number of local initiatives — many of which may not have gone ahead without additional hands, skills or resources. By contributing to these projects, we are able to strengthen our community while giving young people meaningful, practical experience.
Getting involved in local projects allows participants to apply the skills they have developed through their training in construction, mechanics and hospitality. They are able to see a job from start to finish, understand the purpose behind their work and recognise the value of delivering to a high standard. Along the way, they develop important qualities such as teamwork, responsibility, communication and customer service.
Most importantly, these projects provide a strong sense of achievement and pride. When young people can step back and see the positive difference they have helped to create, it reinforces their confidence and belief in their own abilities. Through Community Projects, we are not only improving local spaces — we are helping to shape motivated, capable and community-minded individuals.

MEMORIAL BUDDY BENCH
CTH were privileged for the opportunity, on behalf of Buckhaven Community Council, to build benches in memory of a well admired local. This was a great way to use their recently gained skills. It has been an honour and a pleasure for our clients and team to take part in this.

PLAY AREA FOR LOCAL KIDS GROUP
CTH were asked by The MCCI project to create a wooden Play area for young kids. Having constructed a play facility for youngsters, seeing the outcome and it being used, the client satisfaction and pride on this one was overwhelming.

OUTDOOR REFURBISHMENT OF LOCAL CHURCH
Balcurvie Church doors were in need of repair and a refurb. Our clients applied their new skills on the job, by sanding, repairing the wood with filler, and prepping for painting. The doors were finished off with a few coats of paint and look as good as new. Our clients Robbie and Blair took the lead on this project which has helped them learn how to prep and prime an area for painting and the importance of this, removing and refurbishing ironmongery and completing the job to customer satisfaction.

STREET BENCHES REFURBISHED FOR LOCAL CHURCH
Outdoor benches for our local church were in need of some restoration, this gave our clients a great opportunity to be out in the community and learn on the job skills.

COTSWALDS PARK, KENNOWAY DAFFODIL PLANTING
Our clients had a ‘blooming’ great time planting daffodils for Cotswald community park in Kennoway.

ACCESS RAMP CONSTRUCTED AND INSTALLED FOR LOCAL MENS SHED
The Shed Bayview required a disabled access ramp. This was a great opportunity to assist in progressing with our clients joinery skills whilst constructing something that will provide support to local community groups.

KITCHEN REFURBISHMENT FOR COMMUNITY CENTRE
The kitchen in Collydean Community Centre was in need of updating. Our clients were given the opportunity to assist with this, putting their new skills to use and learning on the job.

NEW FENCE FOR LOCAL RESIDENT
Our current group were out in the community this week for real life job experience learning how to build a fence and gaining knowledge of working practices, working to a high standard and ensuring customer satisfaction.

LEVEN CENTRE CAFE BAR
From a purely commercial perspective, the refurbishment work required for the café kitchen would not have been viable. However, by approaching the project through a training, skills, and opportunity-based model, we were able to support the centre in revitalising the café kitchen while simultaneously providing meaningful learning experiences for young people.
