Identify Career & Develop Life Skills – Stage 1

Course Description

At Present maximum of 8 Pupils

This programme is based for 3rd Year to Senior pupils.

The aim of this project is to give pupils an alternative learning environment in the community which is within a vocational setting so pupils can build on Practical skills, Qualifications, and certification to build on pupil’s attainment levels. Life skills is a key element to this course in teaching pupils Principles in mindset, manners, respect, and effort.


Times: 9:30-12am – 12:30-14:30pm
Duration: 10-week Sessions at 1 day a week.
Sites: Training Environments


These sessions are to give pupils a chance to try different tasks to help with knowing what they want to do or achieve in the future when leaving school.

  1. Induction & Team Building
  2. SQA & E Learning Enrolment, Mindset Training
  3. Insight into Cooking
  4. Budget Cooking, Patsa Day
  5. Cooking starter, main and desserts via recipe book
  6. Insight into Food produce and growing spaces
  7. Seasonal week
  8. Piping skills, Challenge week
  9. Reflection and setting plans for the future
  10. SQA Completion and Fun Activity/ Celebrations

Qualification Gained

  • Practical Abilities unit (Level that pupil can achieve)
  • Pupils will receive one to one support.
  • Self-awareness unit
  • Self in Community
  • Self and Work

(Gaining a Full PDA)

There is a wide selection of certificates that can be achieved but this will be tailored to pupil and career avenues.

Sparked interest in a Career, Softer Skills Gained, Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Teamwork & Respect, Problem-Solving, Time Management, Practice & Life Skills Motivation, Self-Worth/Confidence.
